The Next Percent Story: Engineered for Athletes, Accessible to Everyone

Born from the Grind

Before Next Percent was a brand, it was simply an idea born out of necessity. As runners in the Break 3 Running Club (B3RC), we knew firsthand the toll that high-mileage training takes on the body. We were putting in the work, but the heavy, tired legs after a long weekend run were holding us back.

We knew that regular visits to a physiotherapist or massage therapist yielded great results, but maintaining those appointments on a weekly or fortnightly basis simply wasn't financially sustainable for most of us. At the time, air compression recovery boots had just hit the market, offering a fantastic at-home solution. There was just one massive hurdle: the price tag. At over $1,000 AUD a pair, they were a luxury most everyday runners couldn't afford.

The 500-Unit Accident

We were tired of being priced out of proper recovery. Franz, an ex-IT engineer, and Tim, a mechanical engineer, realized that between their combined expertise, they could design a product that rivaled the expensive, big-name brands but at a fraction of the cost.
By 2025, they had developed a fully functional, high-quality prototype. The original plan wasn't to start a business; Franz and Tim just wanted to manufacture a small batch to share with their friends and fellow runners at B3RC. However, the factory's minimum order quantity was 500 units. To cover the cost of the extra inventory, they rented a modest booth at the 2025 Sydney Marathon Expo, hoping to simply sell off the remaining pairs.

What happened next completely caught us off guard. The expo was an absolute smash hit. We cleared out our entire stock in record time. Talking to the runners at the expo, we realized a massive gap in the market: athletes were using compression boots at their local gyms and loving the results, but the retail price shock was keeping them from buying their own. They were hungry for an affordable alternative that didn't compromise on quality.

Our Philosophy: Product Over Hype

After the overwhelming response at the Sydney Marathon, Franz and Tim realized Next Percent could be something much bigger. We transitioned the business with a single, unwavering goal: to provide excellent, professional-grade recovery products at a reasonable and affordable price to benefit Australian athletes.

To achieve this, we do things a little differently:
Zero Middlemen: We sell our products exclusively online. By skipping brick-and-mortar retail and third-party platform surcharges, we pass those savings directly to you.
Word of Mouth: We don't believe in bloated advertising budgets. Most of our growth comes from one athlete recommending us to another. While we use YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, we treat them as educational spaces to introduce our tech and help you recover better, not as aggressive sales funnels.
Reinvesting in R&D: Every dollar we save on rent and ads goes directly into improving our technology and keeping our prices low.

The Next Chapter: 2026 and Beyond

2026 marks a new start and a massive leap forward for Next Percent. To keep up with demand and streamline our operations, we even began leveraging AI—using tools like Gemini to assist with everything from optimizing our logistics to fine-tuning our technical product descriptions. This allowed us to focus our human energy on what really matters: engineering better recovery gear.
We are proud to launch our new three-tier lineup of recovery boots, designed to meet you exactly where you are in your fitness journey. Each model is engineered to provide approximately 45 minutes of use per session—the optimal window for effective recovery:
The Essential: Our most affordable tier. Perfect for new athletes, everyday fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking for reliable daily recovery.
The Performance: Built for the frequent athlete. If you are training or playing sports more than four times a week and need serious, regular recovery, this is your workhorse.
The Athlete: Engineered for the pros. Featuring more compression chambers, higher pressure capacities, and highly precise massage controls for ultimate, targeted recovery.
Because Next Percent was born from the running community, staying connected to grassroots sports is in our DNA. While you will still find us showcasing our gear at the Gold Coast and Sydney Marathon Expos this year, our mission reaches far beyond the marathon circuit. We already have a rapidly growing base of customers from local rugby, soccer, and volleyball clubs. In 2026, we are committing to engaging directly with these local sporting communities on the ground. We want to be there to support athletes across all disciplines and show them they don't need an elite budget to recover like a pro.

But we aren't stopping at boots. We are currently developing a new range of recovery accessories set to launch later this year.
At Next Percent, we believe that optimal recovery shouldn't be a luxury reserved for the elite. We are here to help you find your next percent of improvement. Our story is just getting started...

2026 & Beyond: The Expansion Fueled by that incredible initial success, we are taking our mission to the next level. We are officially expanding our product catalog to include a wider range of recovery equipment—such as BFR bands—and bringing our gear to more runners across the country.

Our Mission
Built for the Athlete, Not the Algorithm
We believe that high-quality recovery gear should be accessible, which is why we are fiercely protective of where we spend our resources. Every feature has a cost, and we want to ensure your money is spent purely on performance.

We pour our energy into improving our compression technology, enhancing the comfort of our materials, and refining the engineering. What we don't spend money on are massive Ad campaigns, overly expensive designer carrying bags, or oversized batteries designed to last for hours when a scientifically backed recovery session only takes 20 minutes.

Instead of paying for digital billboards, we invest in the real running community. You are much more likely to find us on the ground at marathon and trail running expos—from Sydney to the Gold Coast—talking directly to the athletes, running clubs who use our gear.
At Next Percent, we strip away the fluff so that every dollar you spend is an investment in a product that actually works.
